Strong earnings are welcome, but investors increasingly want evidence that future growth can justify the premium attached to the stock.
The options market is already pricing in a move of roughly 9% following the November 3 report. Interestingly, put options are trading at a considerably higher premium than calls, suggesting greater demand for downside protection.
The bigger focus will be management's Q4 guidance, particularly revenue expectations and the outlook for AI GPU demand.

AMD's upcoming earnings report is shaping up to be a test of expectations rather than simply a test of performance.
The company has built a strong record of beating EPS estimates, doing so in 7 of its last 8 quarterly reports.
Yet, the stock declined the following day in 5 of those instances. That disconnect says a lot about how the market is currently valuing AMD.
