The market wanted a pause from the Fed, but crypto needed more than that to sustain a rally.
The Fed held rates at 3.75% to 4.00%, yet two members voted for a 25 bps hike. That division matters because persistent inflation and a resilient economy leave little room to assume easier monetary policy is coming.
As of Oct 29, $BTC is trading near $80,000, down roughly 1.5% on the day after failing to hold above $81,500. $ETH is around $2,320, also under pressure.

Last night, as soon as the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision was announced, the first reaction in the group was that there was no rate hike, so it's good news! Something big is coming!
But Bitcoin surged and then quickly fell back. 😂
The Federal Reserve kept the interest rate unchanged at 3.75%—4.00%, with a vote of 10 to 2, where two members directly advocated for an immediate 25 basis point hike. The statement still emphasized a strong economy and elevated inflation.
$BTC once surged above 81,500, then steadily fell back, currently fluctuating around 80,000. After breaking key support, buying appears hesitant.
$ETH's drop is even more obvious, with momentum clearly insufficient around 2,300, and its decline always greater than Bitcoin's.
Sentiment comes quickly and goes quickly; short-term volatility is inevitable. Looking at a longer timeframe, there are still many opportunities.
