BTC at $76,500, can you still hold on?
Binance lost $6.3 billion, ETFs bleeding for two consecutive weeks, institutions are running—but BTC is still sideways at 76,500. This isn’t stabilization; it’s the eerie calm before the storm. Can your long positions survive tonight?
First, look at the surface: the price hasn’t crashed, but the blood keeps flowing.
In the past two weeks, BTC has steadily declined from 81,000 to 76,500, down 6%. October has become the worst October in nearly 12 years. Daily candles have closed bearish consecutively, price is below moving averages, RSI is weak, MACD shows a death cross—technicals tell you the bears are still in control.
But look at the market: the 76,500 level has been sideways for three days. It can’t fall further, nor can it rise.
This isn’t a bottom; it’s a tug-of-war between bulls and bears. Whoever lets go first will be carried away.
First matter: Binance’s $6.3 billion theft isn’t gossip; it’s a crisis of trust.
Binance suffered a major security incident involving about $6.3 billion, attributed to North Korean-related groups. Users are frantically withdrawing, the FBI is involved, and the SAFU fund has been partially used.
You might say, “Binance can afford to compensate, so what’s the worry?”
The worry isn’t about compensation; it’s about trust.
Once an exchange is hacked, institutional risk control departments will reassess "crypto asset custody risks." Why are ETF funds flowing out? Part of the reason is here—institutions aren’t afraid of volatility; they fear "who actually holds my coins."
Can you still sleep tonight with your coins sitting on an exchange?
Second matter: ETFs are bleeding, institutions are retreating, don’t pretend you don’t see it.
On October 30, the US spot BTC ETF saw a net outflow of $643 million in one day. On November 2, another $399 million outflow. Throughout October, ETFs shifted from net inflows to net outflows.
In plain terms: institutions are selling.
MicroStrategy is still buying? That’s because they have faith and ammunition. What do you have?
You only have the belief that "BTC will bounce back," and a contract that could blow up anytime.
The Fear & Greed Index dropped from greed to 36—leaning toward fear.
In panic times, smart money is positioning; but can you tell if you’re the smart money or the one being positioned?
Third matter: 76,500 is a lifeline, not a joke.
Strong support: 75,500–76,500. This is a recent low concentration zone and possibly near the 100-day moving average.
If broken: expect 74,000–75,000 or even lower.
Resistance above: 77,000–78,000. If it can’t hold above, any rebound is just a chance to escape.
Further up: 79,500–81,000, previous support turned resistance, a dense trading zone.
76,500 isn’t just a number; it’s the stop-loss line for millions.
Hold it, and there’s a rebound; break it, and it’s a stampede.
Bull-bear showdown, you decide:
On one side:
76,500 strong support, 4H buying defense
Long-term funds like MicroStrategy and Tether are still in
Oversold rebound could happen anytime
Post-midterm election policy uncertainty may settle
On the other side:
Binance trust crisis unresolved
ETF continuous net outflows, weakening institutional demand
Macro is hawkish, rate cut expectations limited
Technical bearish structure intact, rebounds lack volume
November 6 nonfarm payroll data is the next risk
Trading strategy
Short-term (1–3 days):
Hold 76,500 + volume surge with bullish candle: lightly test longs, stop loss at 75,200, target 77,500–78,000, exit when reached.
Confirm break below 75,500: don’t bottom-fish or hold longs. Stay flat and wait for 74,000–75,000 to reassess.
Range strategy: buy low at 76,500, sell high at 78,000, keep position under 20%. This is a range market, not a trending market; don’t apply trend logic to a range.
Mid-term (1–4 weeks):
Wait for all three signals before acting:
ETF flow turns positive
Breaks above 78,000 and holds
No macro data shocks
If any of the three conditions are missing, avoid heavy positions.
In today’s market, survival is more important than profit.
Long-term dollar-cost averaging:
Below 76,500, you can buy in batches, but don’t go all in.
From 126,000 down to 76,000, nearly a 40% retracement, in a mid-term correction range. The long-term narrative isn’t dead, but there’s no short-term catalyst—why rush?
You always say "BTC is digital gold, it will rise long-term."
But how long is long-term? Can you endure a 40% drop, and then another 40%?
Binance lost $6.3 billion, ETFs are running, macro is pressuring—
This isn’t a bull market correction; it’s the bear market knocking.
