Stablecoin regulation is moving from legislation toward implementation.
The US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency announced a final rule for implementing the GENIUS Act, covering requirements for payment stablecoin issuers under its supervision.
Clearer rules could help financial institutions assess the risks of entering the sector. But compliance costs and the details of implementation will also shape who benefits.
