Silver surged five points in a single day tonight, directly pushing above $52, much stronger than gold. Some people backstage have already started shouting "Precious metals are about to take off, hurry and chase."
Hold your horses first. Silver is naturally more emotional than gold, with a smaller market and more leveraged funds. Such a vertical single-day surge, seven or eight times out of ten, is driven by short squeezes and forced liquidations, not a sudden improvement in fundamentals. Afte.
