About Polymarket21BValuation
Polymarket is reportedly seeking $1B in funding at a valuation near $21B. 1789 Capital, where Donald Trump Jr. is a partner, may invest around $300M. The company has not confirmed the amount, closing or final terms. Polymarket lets users trade outcomes across elections, sports and economic data. If the deal closes, the test will extend beyond short-term volume: can the platform grow users and liquidity within regulatory boundaries while preserving independent market rules and governance?

Polymarket and Kalshi are building perps. Hyperliquid is building prediction markets.
They're converging on the same product from opposite directions, and the CFTC is clearing the runway for both.
Here's what nobody's talking about:
$86 trillion in perps volume last year. Add event markets on top of that.

Donald Trump Jr.'s venture firm 1789 Capital is leading a new $1B funding round that values Polymarket at $21B, up from $15B.
> 1789 Capital will invest around $300M in the new round, adding to the roughly $200M it previously put into Polymarket.
> Prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi have surged in popularity over the past year as CFTC oversight of the industry has grown friendlier.
> Trump Jr. also advises Kalshi and received shares worth more than $300,000 there, deepening his family's financial ties to the sector.
> CFTC Chair Michael Selig, a Trump appointee, has sued states trying to regulate prediction markets and publicly backed the industry's growth.
> 1789 Capital now manages more than $3B, up from a few hundred million two years ago, with stakes in firms like SpaceX and Anduril.

Do you think Polymarket considered spending a fraction of their bottomless pit of money to hire a couple developers who, idk like, know what they’re doing?
Actually now that I think about it, maybe they’re just paying those devs to make a better fake site than the first so that they can keep faking influencer wins
Who knows… maybe the budget simply went towards acquiring another diamond necklace for Logan Paul
Its all so tiresome
I cannot conceive of lighting money on fire on the most egregious shit imaginable while your customers, the people responsible for 99% of the metrics you’re so proud of, have come to profoundly hate you because of your inability to provide features that were considered the bare minimum for crypto exchanges 5 years ago

Thrilled to see PSI (@matthew_pines) announcing their $58M seed!
The company is working on using AI to discover new physics which I think is one of the worthiest uses of the technology.
Bravo!
I started Physical Superintelligence (PSI) with @alexwg and @aklokus on one conviction: our twenty-first-century civilization runs on twentieth-century physics, and AI can change that.
Today I'm excited to announce our $58M seed led by @Breakthrough to build the world's most advanced physics research lab, engineering physical systems beyond human design and discovering new physical laws of our universe for broad public benefit.
I'm grateful to my technical leadership (@aleMorari), our world-class team, and everyone who believed early.
Come ignite the physics takeoff with us:

Trump Jr. just put another $300 MILLION into Polymarket which brings his fund's total stake in prediction markets to around half a BILLION
And this is all happening while his dad's own administration is fighting off the states trying to regulate those same markets
So you've got one Trump getting rich off prediction markets and the other one keeping the regulators away
It's a pretty good setup when your family profits from an industry and also gets to write the rules for it
