Bitcoin Still Has Demand. But the Momentum Is Changing. $BTC is holding near the $80K area, but the latest data suggests the market needs more than another short-term bounce. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in about $730.9M on September 3. One day later, that fell to roughly $174.6M. That is still positive demand, but the pace slowed sharply. At the same time, Bitcoin failed to sustain the move above $82K. That tells me the market has buyers, but buyers are becoming more selective. The macro backdrop is not helping. The August U.S. jobs report showed 162,000 new jobs, pushing expectations for a September Fed hike higher. Treasury yields also moved higher, creating another headwind for liquidity-sensitive assets. My radar is watching whether $BTC can turn $80K into real support. If it does, the next confirmation should come from $ETH. I want to see $SOL, $XRP and $BNB strengthen while Bitcoin consolidates. That would suggest capital is beginning to move beyond the BTC trade. Then comes the higher-risk layer. $SUI, $APT, $AVAX, $NEAR and $SEI need to show relative strength before I would call Layer 1 rotation convincing. DeFi is another confirmation point. $AAVE, $UNI, $CRV and $PENDLE can tell us whether liquidity is returning to on-chain yield rather than simply chasing Bitcoin's price. For RWA and infrastructure, $LINK and $ONDO remain on my radar. $ARB and $OP are important for Layer 2 activity, while $TAO, $RENDER and $FET could attract attention if AI-related liquidity starts expanding again. The bigger thesis is simple: Bitcoin still has institutional demand. The question is whether that demand is accelerating fast enough to overcome macro pressure. Global investors are also becoming more defensive. Money-market funds saw $46.1B of weekly inflows as geopolitical tension, higher oil prices and bond-market concerns increased demand for safety.
