The US spot Bitcoin ETF has just experienced its worst week since June, with institutional funds accelerating their withdrawal.
Farside data shows that from November 2 to 6, the US spot BTC ETFs had a total net outflow of about $1.282 billion, with four out of five trading days seeing net outflows, and only Wednesday recording a net inflow of $74.6 million.
The most notable aspect is the flow of funds:
• BlackRock IBIT had a single-week net outflow of $1.21 billion, accounting for about 94% of the total market net outflow;
• On Thursday and Friday, there were consecutive net outflows of $430 million and $412 million;
• On Friday alone, IBIT saw a net outflow of $403 million, while Fidelity's FBTC bucked the trend with a net inflow of $42.8 million.
This means the issue is not just a synchronized withdrawal across the entire ETF market; BlackRock's IBIT bore the vast majority of redemption pressure.
Worse still, since 2026, the cumulative net flow of BTC spot ETFs has turned negative, currently at a net outflow of about $914 million, completely erasing the previous annual net inflows.
ETH spot ETFs are also under pressure, with a single-week net outflow of about $365 million, marking the sixth consecutive week of outflows. The combined net outflow from BTC and ETH ETFs for the week is approximately $1.647 billion.
Sentiment indicators are also deteriorating. On November 7, the Crypto Fear & Greed Index dropped to 25, entering the extreme fear zone; it rebounded to 28 on November 8 but remained in the fear zone. BTC hovered around $75,000 over the weekend.
From AI stock revaluation and policy uncertainty following the US midterm elections to the broad sell-off of risk assets, the market is reassessing risk exposure.
It is important to note that ETF net outflows do not equate to fund managers directly selling spot assets in equal amounts, nor can it be simply equated to all institutions exiting the market.
But one thing is clear: the previously sustained narrative of BTC supported by ETF inflows is facing its most severe test this year.
What to watch next is not only whether BTC can hold $75,000 but also when ETF funds will turn positive again.
Friday’s bitcoin ETF outflows barely improved on Thursday.
$411.9M left, versus $430.2M the day before.
The split is what caught my attention.
IBIT lost $403M while Fidelity’s FBTC attracted $42.8M.
Across the five sessions, net outflows reached $1.282B.
I read that as uneven demand. Some buyers are still allocating, but their purchases haven’t absorbed the redemptions elsewhere.
That makes the next session’s breakdown more useful to me than another headline about institutions buying or selling bitcoin.
Does IBIT’s selling ease, and do inflows start appearing across more funds?

BlockBeats news, on November 8, Tom Lee, chairman of Ethereum treasury company BitMine, stated in an interview with CNBC that the policy impact after the midterm elections has intensified market concerns about the prospects of AI development, but the significant repricing of related stocks has been excessive. After the sell-off of U.S. tech stocks, Wall Street is loudly calling to "buy the dip," with Morgan Stanley stating that the next two to three weeks are the time to increase positions
BlockBeats reports that on November 8, after a sell-off in U.S. tech stocks, several Wall Street strategists still view it as a correction and a buying opportunity. The S&P 500 index fell 4.4% on Thursday, the Nasdaq 100 dropped 6.4%; although the S&P 500 rebounded 0.3% on Friday, it has still declined 2.5% since the midterm election results were announced.
