$BTC This surge: a bullish pre-run or a bull trap?
Currently, BTC has rebounded from the low of 80351 to around 84200. This rise is a preemptive recovery ahead of the CPI data, not a trend reversal, and the risk of a bull trap should not be ignored.
The market is already speculating on the September inflation data, betting on weaker core CPI and a cooling of Fed rate hike expectations. Funds are leading the rally to create a rebound, which is a typical "buy the expectation" scenario. However, the volume is shrinking during the rise, lacking incremental capital support. This is just a correction after a decline driven by existing funds, with resistance still at 84500–85000, and insufficient momentum for further gains.
The main players can easily use this rebound to create a false stop to attract retail investors to chase longs and open contracts. Once CPI inflation exceeds expectations and rate hike expectations reignite, this surge will directly turn into a bull trap, quickly crashing the market to harvest high-position longs.
At this stage, do not mistake the short-term rebound for a reversal. Chasing highs before the data is released carries great risk. It is best to remain cautious, wait for data and breakout signals to confirm before making judgments, and avoid taking high positions lightly.
